New England Machinery offers its model SO-7 secondary
belt orienting system. A pair of horizontal timing belts creates separation
between the containers and controls the release of containers into a
sensing zone in order to determine the need for orientation. At that
moment the Sensing System sends a signal to the PLC. This Sensing System
can consist of a variety of sensors including Photo Electric; Laser;
"Smart Cam"; Bar Code or Mechanical. Once the decision is made
by the Sensing System to orient, the containers entering the rotating
chamber will rotate on a central and vertical axis 90 or 180 degrees from
their original position. The system then feeds the correctly oriented
containers downstream to the next operation. Versatile: The SO-7 provides a smooth, uninterrupted flow of correctly oriented containers. The system can be configured to orient any flat sided or oval shaped containers, or any containers either labeled or unlabeled. It can sense and orient using the most subtle difference in graphics, mechanical shape or texture. The determining feature can be as small as a metering window located on the spine or edge of the container.Compact Design: The SO-7 is a self-contained, freestanding unit. It offers an ergonomically correct low profile design. Operators have easy access for changeovers.Gentle Container Handling: The orienter provides smooth continuous motion and advanced customer features, incorporating non-marring transfer belts.Easy Installation: The SO-7’s compact design allows for easy installation, sliding up to the customer’s existing conveyor. The height adjustment allows it to be raised when not in use and lowered for the next changeover.
