Job description

The Project Manager position is responsible for projects from the time of inquiry to shipment. The primary focus will be to support the regional sales team and act as a liaison between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and the Customer. The Project Manager will present projects to the technical team to ensure the correct equipment is quoted, prepare quotes, obtain pricing, communicate with the Regional Sales team, prepare Accounting details, and facilitate the progress of the equipment through Engineering and Manufacturing. Customer communication is a key component of this position. This individual must view projects with a customer, financial, operational and sales objective in mind. The primary area of focus will be supporting the Sales Team and ensuring the project progresses in a timely and orderly manner through each stage of development.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with Regional Sales Team, Engineering, Manufacturing and Customers to develop and quote projects.
  2. Manage communication between the various departments to ensure that Customer requirements and Engineering and Manufacturing requirements are congruent.
  3. Develop familiarity with New England Machinery’s packaging equipment and products.
  4. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Operations on customer-related projects, trials, commissioning of machines.
  5. Frequently communicate status and action items of projects with Customers.
  6. Any other tasks/projects assigned by his/her manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Present projects to the technical team for quoting purposes.
  • Prepare worksheets and quotations.
  • Generate system change orders as needed.
  • Participate in delivery and scope changes
  • Define the true needs and expectations of the customer
  • Host customer visits and system inspections
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure a smooth and timely process
  • Liaison between Sales, Operations and Customer.


Job Requirements

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems (Epicor) would be a plus
  • Prior Project Management/Sales Support experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Detail and customer service oriented
  • Technical background is preferred


Tool or Equipment to be Used:

  • Operate a telephone, calculator, photocopy, and fax machine
  • Ability to use MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint software

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Flexible to work evenings, weekends or holidays as required.


Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the day-to-day job will be done in a standard office, the noise level in the neighboring work environment is typical of a metal manufacturing area.
